EL Congress ratifies the accession of eight new parties

The Party of the European Left (EL) initiates its fifth term with more parties, with the vocation of being a useful party for the peoples of Europe and with the challenge of creating an annual forum that assembles all the trade unions, political, social, environmental, progressive and emergent forces ready to break with neoliberalism, austerity and capitalism.

Gregor Gysi elected new President of the Party of the European Left

The delegates of the 5th Congress of the Party of the European Left (EL) elected this Saturday the German Gregor Gysi as the new EL President for a three-year term that will end in late 2019.

Le président de l'Eurogroup, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, s'est fait le relai des conservateurs de certains pays européens, dont l'Allemagne, pour remettre en cause les mesures sur la dette grecque annoncées le 5 décembre. C'est une mesure politique punissant le gouvernement grec pour avoir pris des mesures en faveurs de 1.6 millions de retraités et avoir suspendu la hausse de la TVA dans les îles du Nord et de la mer Egée.

Pierre Laurent: "The social democracy has come to a blind alley and we are the hope"

The Congress of the Party of the European Left (EL) begun this Friday, in Berlin, with a call for a Europe of peace against the growing militarisation of Europe and the increasingly worrying policies of the EU. Bern Riexinger, Co-Chair of Die Linke, was the first to take the floor to welcome the more than 220 delegates and 118 guests, coming from 40 countries, participating in this congress that has the motto “Building Alliances”.
