Belgian law can ilibate nazism collaborators

The Belgian Senate has voted in the plenary meeting of May 12th for the possibility of opening the discussion over a revisionist private bill concerning the amnesty of Belgians having collaborated with the Nazis.

The bill, formulated by the Flemish nationalist party Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) it is not surprising but, in fact, reiterates the party line since several years ago with the same kind of proposals (although previously always rejected) and recognizes as a partisan model Staf De Clercq, Nazis Flemish VNV leader during the occupation,.

The big difference is that this time the fact of discussing the law of "erasing, for the future, all the effects of the condemnations and penalties imposed for acts of incivility allegedly committed between May 10th, 1940 and May 8th, 1945 and the establishment of a commission to compensate victims of repression after the war or their descendants for the financial loss incurred as a result of those condemnations and penalties " has officially became “receivable” with the vote of 30 Flemish senators, with the exception of ecologists “Groen”! (this means 26 voted against, all the Wallons plus Groen! party).

If the vote is limited for now to determine the admissibility of the technical text, it is not less representative on the rulers dangerous tendency and the rise of the extreme right. If the law finally passes, it would be a real insult for all those who fought or were victims of the Nazi regime.
