Turkey will intermediate Iran's and Brazil's diplomatic victory
Brazil and Turkey reached an agreement this week with Iran based in the proposals that the United States defended months ago. But, apparently, USA was not satisfied with the deal and the UN decided to apply more sanctions and to respond to the accord with two vetoes.
In the text deal it was written: “We reaffirm our commitment to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and in accordance with the related articles of the NPT, recall the right of all State Parties, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, to develop research, production and use of nuclear energy (as well as nuclear fuel cycle including enrichment activities) for peaceful purposes without discrimination.” However, some UN members seem to find this “diplomatic victory” as President Lula mentioned as “unreliable”.
Iran arranged with Brazil and Turkey to send a quantity of of its uranium out of the country, more precisely to Turkish soil, bracing a fuel change plan outlined by the U.N. with the intention of maintaining its nuclear work in observation, but without stopping domestic enrichment.
These last declarations provoked therefore suppositions by the West that Tehran is planning to make bombs. On the contrary, official White House declarations seemed to be passive, but rigid and willing to maintain the supremacy of this matter: "The United States will continue to work with our international partners, and through the United Nations Security Council, to make it clear to the Iranian government that it must demonstrate through deeds - and not simply words - its willingness to live up to international obligations or face consequences, including sanctions,".
