The EL will mobilize against the Transatlantic market on Saturday
The Party of the European Left will participate this Saturday, Oct. 11 to the initiatives planned for the European day of action against the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), the Canada-EU Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Trade in Services Agreement (TISA).
These free trade agreements, negotiated in secret, represent a great danger for employment, social rights, public services, food safety, environmental protection, culture and democracy in Europe. They give full powers to multinational corporations, both in front of the states and sovereign peoples, and they threaten to deeply destabilize our countries.
Many citizens, more than 240 NGOs, Unions, social and political organizations at European level, including the Party of the European Left, call for an end to negotiations. Dozens of local authorities have been declared “off-TTIP”.
Together we can expand mobilizations to defeat these dangerous projects! The EL also invites all those who fight for a Europe of fair trade with the rest of the world, to come and discuss in spring, in Paris, at the occasion of the European Forum for Alternatives.
